The Individual Match Play Tournament is a great event to showcase skill, strategy and composure as players navigate through the emotional roller coaster of golf.

 

Format

• Single Elimination Match Play, 18 holes or as many holes needed to determine the winner of the match
• 100% Course Handicap as of Match date, each Match will stroke off of the low handicap player, all Match scorecards must be turned in for score posting
• Maximum field size 256 players
• Deadline to sign up will be June 25th at 5:00 pm
• Random seeding for this event

• PVMGA Members in good standing with an up-to-date USGA Handicap, Entry fee $0.00
• Non-PVMGA Members with an up-to-date USGA Handicap, Entry fee $50.00
• Please consider your availability relative to Match Deadlines before signing up for this event
• Standard golf fees will apply

Tee Times

• Opponents must arrange their own tee times before each Match Deadline, in the event players cannot complete their Match before a deadline, a coin-toss will decide the Match

Men’s Club Championship

October 14^th & 15^th, 2023

This is not a sprint but a marathon……players must pace themselves through the rigors of competition as the best compete for the coveted title of

SENIOR CLUB CHAMPION or SUPER-SENIOR CLUB CHAMPION!

Format

• Open Division, 54-Holes Individual Stroke Play, Gross Score Only
• Senior Division & Super-Senior Division, 36-Holes Individual Stroke Play, Gross Score Only
• Players must notify the Golf Pro Shop which division title they wish to compete for
• All Putts must be holed out, no maximum score
• Maximum field size 72 players
• Deadline to sign up will be October 11^th at 5:00 pm

 

Entry Fee & Eligibility

• PVMGA Members $0.00, all other Ponte Vedra Inn & Club Members $50 entry fee
• Open Division is open to all PVIC Members with a handicap index 15.3 and lower
• Senior Division is open to all PVIC Members age 55 and over
• Super-Senior Division is open to PVIC Members age 65 and over

• Round 1: Lagoon Course: Open Division Blue Tees, Senior Division White Tees, Super-Senior Division Green Tees
• Round 2: Ocean Course: Open Division Gold Tees, Senior Division Blue Tees, Super-Senior Division White Tees
• Round 3: Ocean Course: Open Division Gold Tees

 

Tee Times & Pairings

• Round 1: Open Division tee times will begin at 7:30 am on Saturday, October 14^th, pairings and tee times randomly assigned, Senior Division and Super-Senior Division tee times will follow
• Round 2: Open Division tee times will begin at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 14^th, tee time order and pairings will remain the same as Round 1
• Round 2: Super-Senior Division and Senior Division tee times will begin at 7:30 am on Sunday, October 15^th, tee time order and pairings base on Round 1 scores
• Round 3: Open Division tee times will follow Round 2 of the Super-Senior Division and Senior Division, tee times and pairings based on 36 hole scores

 

Pace of Play Policy

• The time par for this event will be 3 hours and 55 minutes on the Lagoon Course and 4 hours 15 minutes on the Ocean Course
• Each player is responsible for their own pace of play, ready golf is encouraged
• Groups must maintain their position relative to the group ahead
• Any player receiving more than 2 warnings may be subject to penalty strokes

• Entries will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis until the event is full, followed by an alternate list
• Maximum field size 72 players
• Deadline to sign up will be October 11^th at 5:00 pm

Put Your Game To The Ultimate Test!

This Individual Stroke Play Tournament will showcase some of the year’s best competitive rounds.  The Ocean Course and Lagoon Course will demand your attention on every shot as players navigate through 36 holes of tournament golf.

Format

• 36-Holes of Individual Stroke Play, Low Net within your own Flight (6 Flights), the player with the overall 36-hole Lowest Net Total will be crowned the President’s Cup Champion
• In the event of a tie for overall Low Net, a net sudden-death playoff will determine the President’s Cup Champion
• All Putts must be holed out, no maximum score
• 95% Handicap Index Allowance and Cap Patrol index adjustments as of November 1^st update
• Deadline to sign up will be November 1^st at 5:00 pm
• Maximum field size will be 120 players

• PVMGA Members in good standing with an up to date USGA Handicap Index, Entry fee $0.00
• Non-PVMGA Members with an up-to-date USGA Handicap, Entry fee $50.00

Tee Times & Pairings

• Round 1 tee times will begin at 7:30 am, randomly assigned
• Round 1 pairings will be random A, B, C, D handicap players (helps manage pace of play)
• Round 2 tee times will begin at 7:30 am based on round 1 Flight standings, leaders off last
• Round 2 pairings based on round 1 Flight standings, leaders off last

• Round 1 Lagoon Course, Blue tee markers
• Round 2 Ocean Course, Blue tee markers
• Players may choose to play from a different tee marker, course handicap will adjust accordingly, players must notify the golf pro shop before the event begins

Format

• 36-Holes, Two-Man Team, 1 Net Best Ball on Odd Holes, Both Balls Count on Even Holes
• Maximum Individual Score of Net Double-Bogey
• 95% Course Handicap as of November 15^th update
• Teams will compete within their own Flight
• Flights will be based on combined handicap index, there will be an 8 stroke maximum differential between partners with the higher handicap player being reduced
• Maximum field size of 36 teams (72 players) in each shotgun: 8:15am or 1:00pm
• Deadline to sign up will be Wednesday, November 15^th at 5:00 pm

• PVMGA Members in good standing with an up-to-date USGA Handicap, Entry fee $50.00
• Non-PVMGA Members with an up-to-date USGA Handicap, Entry fee $100.00

• Choose your own Partner, Pairings will be random

• The time par for this event: 3 hours 50 minutes on Lagoon and 4 hours 10 minutes on Ocean

• Each player is responsible for their own pace of play, ready golf is encouraged
• Based on the format, please pick up in you have not holed out for a Net Bogey
• Any group receiving more than 2 warnings may be subject to penalty strokes

Spreading the Holiday Cheer!

 

Dear PVMGA Members,

This December, the Ponte Vedra Men’s Golf Association has the pleasure of sponsoring our Annual Christmas Fund Golf Tournament.  The Christmas Tournament has traditionally been the largest single event for our Members.  We encourage everyone to play in the tournament and share in the Holiday cheer (Bonus points for Santa Hat’s!).  This is sure to be a lot of fun and a great way for the Membership to say “Thank You” to the staff that make our golfing experience world class year-round.

While we know that not all Members will be able to join us for golf that day, we appreciate those Members making a generous donation to the Christmas Fund via the Donation Cards found in the Golf Pro Shop and at the bottom of this announcement.

The entire Christmas Fund collection is to be distributed to the staff of the Golf Shop, Golf Maintenance, Beverage Cart and bar/banquet servers who have provided services to the PVMGA in the past year.  The amount each member of the staff is awarded is based on their years of service and time devoted to our events this year.

If you are playing in the event, an automatic donation of $150 will be charged to your account.  If you are not playing and wish to make a contribution, please complete and submit the enclosed donation card.  Please note, Membership Charge only; unfortunately, we will not be accepting checks or cash.

Your prompt response, along with your contribution, is greatly appreciated so that we are able to distribute these funds to the staff as early as possible this Holiday Season. 

Even if you cannot join your fellow Members for the golf, we encourage you to join us prior to our tee time for fellowship and the opportunity to thank the staff in person.

Format

• Two-Man Team Alternate Shot (alternating drives: odd holes vs even holes), 18 holes or as many holes needed to determine the winner of the match
• Team Handicaps calculated to 50% of the Team Difference, each match will stroke off the Low Handicap Team, Handicap Index as of Match Date will be used
• Maximum field size 128 Teams
• Deadline to sign up will be December 27th at 5:00pm

The 2024 PV Cup field will consist of the top 16 Gross and top 16 Net qualifiers.
Members of your Professional Staff will be serving as Team Captains.

2024 PV CUP QUALIFYING
Thursday, February 1^st - Sunday, February 11^th

-      All qualifying rounds must be played on the Ocean Course from the Blue Tee Markers.

-      Qualifying rounds may be played any time during the qualifying period in your regular weekly game or organized tee time.

-      Players must notify the golf pro shop of their qualifying round prior to tee time and must be playing with other players.

-     Players may attempt to qualify ONCE.
